Thirty is NOT the new twenty — The Defining Decade

The full title of the book is The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter–And How to Make the Most of Them Now (a bit lengthy and tedious, isn’t it?), by Meg Jay. It is a book about life, career, and marriage for age 20s.

Well, somehow I find recent book published in U.S. looks quite similar. Anecdotes not very realistic, statistics not very convincing, and science not very relevant. In some perspective, these are actually diluting the idea of the authors.

On the bright side, certain advice from Meg Jay is actually quite useful. Networking is generally a good thing to do. Picking a goal and planning ahead is necessary and should not be delayed to next year. And taking your girl friend to travel in an underdeveloped country is indeed a brilliant idea :-).

From review of U.S. readers, the author would be considered too conservative and too judgmental. However in the context of China society, it might be just right for an average reader.
